Begin Capital launches Fund II with £75m to target deep tech founders building in Europe or the US

Begin Capital Fund II backs deep tech founders working on hard technical problems in AI infrastructure, hardware and silicon, and physical AI. The fund invests globally with a focus on European tech talent, writing small, flexible first cheques and then building ownership in its strongest companies.

Begin Capital launches Begin Capital Fund II with £75m for its “second season”. Fund II will invest in deep tech founders across AI infrastructure, hardware and silicon, and physical AI, backing companies globally with a focus on European tech talent.

Nine investments have already been made from Fund II: All3, SurrealDB, AregAI, Crewline, xmemory, DesignVerse, Zencoder, Tomorrow Things and one company still in stealth. Alex Menn, Ruslan Sarkisyan, Joël Van Dijk and Saagar Bhavsar lead the investment team.

The investment approach carries over from the first fund. Begin Capital writes small, flexible first cheques, moves quickly on decisions and then builds a larger stake in its best-performing companies before other investors arrive. Fund I gave Begin Capital its conviction in this strategy. As an early backer of the founders behind Runware, Fundraise Up, Native Teams, Codesphere and Dwelly, that first fund now ranks in the top 1% of its vintage globally.

Several of those founders are now working with the firm on the other side of the table. Flaviu Radulescu of Runware, Elias Schneider of Codesphere and Dan Lifshits of Dwelly have joined Fund II as venture partners, and other Fund I founders have invested in the new fund as limited partners.
