Bloemteknik, a Cardiff-based provider of precision LED lighting systems for commercial greenhouses and vertical farms, has secured £2.5 million in funding led by Foresight Group. The investment was made through the British Business Bank's Investment Fund for Wales and Foresight's Growth VCTs.
Bloemteknik has also secured over £700,000 of Innovate UK grant funding through the Investor Partnership Programme to support ongoing product development and further advancement of the GreenFingers platform.
Founded in 2023, Bloemteknik has deployed over 25,000 lighting fixtures across multiple international markets. Its modular systems are tailored to specific crop types and growing environments, enabling growers to operate more efficiently, boost productivity, and achieve consistent results.
The investment has supported the launch of Bloemteknik’s autonomous lighting platform, GreenFingers, which uses advanced algorithms to deliver real-time, self-optimising control of supplementary lighting. The platform ensures consistent daily light integral and a balanced growing environment, following accelerated development, testing, and commercial deployment.
The funding will enable Bloemteknik to scale its operations, strengthen delivery capacity, and expand into new international markets. The partnership also provides board-level guidance, sector expertise, and access to a global network to support the development of a high-growth business rooted in South Wales.
