Embedd raises a £2m pre-seed round led by Seedcamp to automate chip software integration for physical AI systems

Embedd builds an infrastructure platform for physical AI systems that creates a digital twin of hardware components. The platform gives AI agents the context to automate integration work and generate the software that makes a chip function, replacing the manual documentation reading and hand-written integration code that hardware software teams rely on today.

Embedd, a London-based infrastructure startup for physical AI systems, has raised £2 million in pre-seed funding led by Seedcamp, with participation from Cocoa, Connect Ventures, 2100 Ventures, Vesna Capital, U.ventures, Underline Ventures, Common Magic and Roosh Ventures.

At issue is a challenge facing developers of intelligent hardware systems: enabling software to communicate effectively with a growing number of semiconductor components. As robotics and physical AI applications become more widespread across manufacturing, automotive and healthcare, software teams are often required to manually interpret extensive technical documentation and write integration code for different chips. Embedd's platform creates a digital twin of hardware components, providing AI agents with the context needed to automate integration tasks and generate the software required for hardware functionality. Customers have used the approach to deliver production-ready chip software up to six times faster.

Founded by Ukrainian entrepreneurs Michael Lazarenko, Maxim Gorinov and Valentin Gololobov, the business grew out of challenges encountered at the founders' previous hardware company, which faced component shortages during the Covid-19 pandemic and later disruption following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Repeatedly adapting software to support alternative components highlighted what the founders saw as a growing industry bottleneck.

Since its commercial launch in April 2026, Embedd has secured contracts with several semiconductor manufacturers. Among its recent partnerships is an agreement with Microchip Technology, where Embedd is helping enable support for the Zephyr real-time operating system. The new funding will go towards further developing the platform and expanding work with semiconductor companies.
