Highland Europe has announced its sixth fund, Fund VI, at £950 million. The growth-stage technology investment firm will continue backing Europe's next generation of technology leaders, and has announced the fund alongside the promotion of two new Partners.
The strategy focuses on European growth-stage entrepreneurs building category-defining global businesses. Operating as an equal partnership, the firm has offices in London and Geneva and a team of 36, including 20 investment professionals.
Fund VI follows a period of realisations, with nearly £1 billion of liquidity generated in 2026. Since 2012, Highland has raised billion across six funds, invested in more than 80 companies and guided 30 exits. Recent outcomes include the £2.2 billion sale of Nexthink to a private equity sponsor, the agreed sale of Huel to Danone, the £5.5 billion merger of EGYM and Playlist, and the listing of Bending Spoons (NASDAQ: BSP) with a market capitalisation of over £13 billion.
Across consumer and enterprise scale-ups, Fund V backed smartphone designer Nothing, credit intelligence firm 9fin, healthcare AI assistant Nabla and AI orchestration platform n8n. Recent deals led by the firm include the £50 million Series B for in-house legal AI platform Wordsmith, the £37 million Series B for enterprise AI delivery platform Unframe, and the £78 million Series D for precision-agriculture company Ecorobotix.
Investors Helena Richardson and Jacob Bernstein have been promoted to Partner. Richardson joined in 2016 and has backed companies including Ffern, ME+EM, Modulr and Huel, while Bernstein joined in 2017 and invests in enterprise companies including Unframe, Zero Networks, Oritain and Descartes Underwriting. Portfolio companies backed since 2012 include 9fin, AMCS, Bending Spoons, Camunda, EGYM, Featurespace, GetYourGuide, Huel, hyperexponential, ME+EM, Nexthink, n8n, Wolt and Zwift.
