LO:TECH, a capital markets firm built for round-the-clock and onchain markets, has raised £9 million in a Series A round led by MMC. Existing investors Faction and 13 Books Capital also took part, alongside Atka. The funding will take LO:TECH into the US and Asia-Pacific.
LO:TECH built its trading infrastructure to operate on any venue, in any asset class, at any time. Its high-frequency trading systems power both its own liquidity provision and client services across traditional, digital and prediction markets, spanning designated market making, market data and execution services. The execution services, launched on 2 November, use that cross-venue access to help clients trade more efficiently. The firm aims to connect digital asset markets with tokenised traditional assets, as money moves from digital asset speculation towards tokenised traditional assets: in the year to June 2026, total crypto market capitalisation fell about 50%, while the value of tokenised real-world assets on public blockchains nearly doubled to around £28 billion, according to RWA.xyz. Tokenised equities alone grew from about £720 million in March to £2.4 billion by late September.
Since its last funding round in August 2025, LO:TECH has tripled its revenue and doubled its headcount, and it has now recorded two consecutive years of triple-digit revenue growth. It serves more than 50 clients, including publicly listed companies, across three product lines.
LO:TECH was founded by Tim Meggs, CEO, Marcus Horsley, CTO, and Alex Williams, and has previously raised rounds led by MMC, Faction and 13 Books Capital. The new capital will fund its expansion into the US and Asia-Pacific, including New York and Singapore, and the growth of its execution services for institutional clients. The firm also plans to become regulated in the markets it enters and is exploring licences in the US.
Capital markets were built for a world that opened at 8am and closed at 4.30pm. That's not how risk is traded any more. The best trading firms in the world are technologically advanced, but they grew up on top of traditional market infrastructure. We built ours from scratch for markets that run 24/7, onchain and across every asset class.
Fintech and digital asset platforms are moving into territory that used to belong to Wall Street. To do that well, they need trading partners built for how these markets actually work. There is room for a capital markets firm that grew up in digital assets to compete with the largest names in traditional finance, and we think that firm can be built in London.
Tim, Marcus and the LO:TECH team have built a business designed for markets that never close, delivering triple-digit revenue growth over the past year through exceptionally tough crypto market conditions. We’ve been investing in blockchain-based financial infrastructure for several years because we believe in the benefits tokenised real-world assets can bring. As more trading moves to always-on venues, we see a significant opportunity for LO:TECH to provide the infrastructure those markets need, and we’re delighted to support the team on that journey.
