Marleybones, the dog food brand behind Pantry Fresh® meals, has closed a £2.5m funding round. The round was led by TAW Ventures, the investment firm founded by Jane Lauder, with follow-on investment from JamJar Investments, Active Partners, and Animal Health Angels.
The company, founded in 2020, was created to offer a balance between quality and convenience in dog food. Its Pantry Fresh® meals are slow-cooked, nutritionally complete, and packed in sustainable cartons. Alongside its main meal range, Marleybones also sells vet-developed supplements, omega oil, and air-dried treats. All products are made in the UK with locally sourced ingredients.
The business has recorded over 200% growth since its previous funding round. It has expanded its retail presence to Pets at Home, Co-op and Ocado, and grown its partnerships with Waitrose and Whole Foods Market. It has launched a line of functional supplements, piloted a veterinary channel, and achieved a Trustpilot rating of 4.8/5.
Marleybones has also partnered with rePurpose Global to achieve plastic-neutral certification, uses locally sourced British ingredients for all UK-produced products, and packs all meals in recyclable Tetra Pak cartons.
Following the investment, Marleybones plans to expand its marketing, customer experience, and retail operations, and increase brand awareness through PR, events, and influencer activity.
