MediShout, the digital infrastructure connecting hospitals with medical suppliers to improve patient care, has closed an oversubscribed £6.5m Series A round to accelerate international expansion across Europe and the US. The round was led by Heal Capital, with follow-on participation from existing investors including Nickleby Capital and the first NHS-backed venture fund, Meridian Health Ventures.
Founded by former NHS doctors Dr. Ash Kalraiya and Dr. Ali Bahsoun, MediShout raised over £3.5m in seed funding in 2023, backed by Episode 1, Nickleby Capital and Meridian Health Ventures.
MediShout replaces siloed systems with a centralised digital interface for hospital staff to report issues, track status updates in real time and coordinate spare parts, kits and maintenance across suppliers with Amazon-like ease.
Hospitals rely on thousands of medical suppliers to deliver patient care, yet communication between the two remains largely analogue; dominated by phone calls, emails and fragmented systems. MediShout bridges this digital gap with a dual-sided platform that connects hospitals, suppliers and even patients managing their at-home medical devices.
The platform currently offers multiple core modules covering equipment faults, loan kit management, maintenance, purchase orders, and supplier product support. It also integrates with the major hospital IT systems used by clinical engineering and sterile services, ensuring hospitals and suppliers can better manage workflows.
In UK hospitals alone, MediShout has helped reduce surgery cancellations by up to 44% and saves up to 4.5 hours per faulty device reported. Medical suppliers integrating with the platform report up to 50% faster loan kit returns, streamlining product deployment and customer experience.
With this new funding, MediShout will scale operations across mainland Europe and enter the US market. The company plans to hire across software and commercial teams to accelerate product development and deepen partner relationships.
