Metris Energy, a platform for managing energy assets at scale, has raised a £3.7 million seed round led by PT1 Ventures, Octopus Ventures, AENU and Blackfinch Ventures, with participation from Plug and Play and Love Ventures. The announcement comes alongside the launch of Metria AI, a new AI interface that executes complex tasks previously carried out manually by operations teams.
Launched in 2025, Metris began by solving a single, painful problem for solar portfolios: reconciling data scattered across inverters, meters, SCADA, CRMs, spreadsheets and finance tools into one clean, reliable record. That focus has since evolved into a broader ambition to become the unified data layer for the entire energy sector. Metris is building what it describes as the intelligent system of record for energy, a living, continuously updated profile of every physical asset that reconciles raw data from asset systems, metering, SCADA, GIS and energy markets into a single source of truth. On top of that record sit automated workflows, natural-language querying, a revenue hub, and AI agents that can act reliably for the first time in energy asset management, thanks to data complete enough to support them.
Global energy transactions total $5 trillion every year, yet most power producers still run their operations on spreadsheets. As the grid decentralises, new revenue streams are emerging, including flexibility, curtailment management, community energy and corporate PPAs, but the data needed to access, integrate and reconcile them is fragmented across dozens of disconnected systems. Metris instead offers asset owners a clean, real-time view of their entire portfolio, helping them make informed decisions about how and when to act.
Having seen 8x revenue growth YoY, Metris now manages over 10,000 solar plants and 500MW of capacity for some of the largest power producers in the world.
The raise brings total funding to date to £5.6 million. The funds will be used to expand the product's agentic capabilities and extend the platform's reach into wind and Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems, alongside expansion across Europe with a particular focus on Germany, where several new customers have already been onboarded.
Metris was founded on the core belief that the winners of the energy transition won't be the owners of the most kW of capacity, but those who can view, control and monetise them best. There's no unified layer that lets asset owners, or the AI agents now entering this space, actually see and act on their portfolio. That's the gap we're closing with Metris.
Natasha and the Metris Energy team are building the data infrastructure that makes energy assets visible in real-time, unlocking the opportunity for AI to transform the space. Their platform is already driving down the cost of operating asset portfolios at scale and opening market access to flexible energy contracts. Watching the team thrive over the past months only strengthened our conviction to back Metris Energy in this round.
