Modo Energy has raised £25m in a Series B round led by Molten Ventures, with participation from ETF Partners, MMC Ventures, and Fred. Olsen Limited. Modo Energy builds the global standard for benchmarking and valuing electrification assets. This funding supports rising demand for trusted tools to assess electrification investments at scale.

Trillions of dollars are being deployed into batteries, renewables, data centres, and flexible loads, yet the tools used to value these assets remain slow, fragmented, opaque, and dependent on static consultant reports. Modo Energy exists to fix that. They are building a trusted, transparent, bankable standard for valuing electrification assets - a single global benchmark for performance, risk, and capital allocation.

Modo Energy is transforming valuation for electrification assets by delivering AI-powered, software-driven valuation systems that replace consultancy-driven documents with dynamic intelligence customers can interrogate directly. They own a full modelling stack, enabling explainable, auditable workflows that meet the rigour required for long-term infrastructure finance.

Modo Energy's benchmarks, forecasts, and modelling outputs are already used by major asset owners, operators, and financiers across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific. In 2025, more than 20,000 MWh of battery capacity was benchmarked on the platform, and Modo Energy’s intelligence underpinned the underwriting, operation, and valuation of billions of dollars of electrification assets worldwide.

This technology tackles one of the most pressing bottlenecks in battery energy storage finance: poor visibility into how assets perform over time. By providing clear, standardised benchmarks and robust revenue forecasts, Modo Energy gives asset owners and financiers a shared, trusted view of value - turning opaque markets into transparent ones and accelerating capital into the flexible assets needed to decarbonise power systems at scale.

This Series B supports the next phase of their strategy: to become the benchmarking and valuation operating system for global electrification assets. With this investment, Modo Energy will expand from 5 to 20 markets, scale their team across engineering, data science, and customer support, deploy advanced AI valuation systems so customers can interact directly with live models, scenarios, and explainable intelligence, and extend their standards across batteries, solar, wind, data centres, and flexible loads, ensuring consistent methodologies across asset types and markets.

We’re building the benchmarking and valuation operating system for global electrification - and AI is central to that mission. Because we own our entire modelling stack, we can deliver AI-powered, explainable valuation workflows that replace static analysis with dynamic intelligence systems. It’s a privilege to support our customers with tools worthy of the decisions they’re making.

AI has the potential to transform how the world values and finances electrification. Modo Energy is uniquely positioned to lead this shift because it owns the entire modelling stack and has already established the trust required across the financial ecosystem. We’ve been impressed by the team’s deep sector expertise, strong execution, and ability to embed their product into customer workflows. We’re confident that Modo’s growth and global ambition will position them as the benchmark for energy market intelligence across Europe and beyond.
George Chalmers, Investor at Molten Ventures
Energy storage is the backbone of a resilient, renewables-led power system, but too often investment decisions are made with incomplete, inconsistent data. Modo Energy is solving that problem at its source by creating the trusted benchmarking and valuation standard that investors, lenders, and operators have been missing - unlocking capital for the best projects faster and with greater confidence in long-term performance.
