Founded by University of Sheffield graduate Zeezy Izenman, Motion has built a SaaS platform that digitises care home operations whilst automating family communication workflows. The technology stack processes care activities, resident engagement data and wellbeing metrics to generate automated updates across multiple touchpoints – reducing manual administrative work whilst increasing family engagement.
The platform addresses a significant market inefficiency: whilst care homes deliver quality services, families often lack visibility into daily activities and outcomes. Motion’s solution captures care delivery data once and automatically distributes contextualised information to families and managers through appropriate channels.
Motion’s platform is already used by over 3,000 residents across multiple care providers. The funding will support product development focused on integration with existing care management systems, enhanced analytics for care planning, and expansion of the sales and marketing team to serve the growing demand from care providers nationwide.
The UK care home market represents a significant digitalisation opportunity, with many providers still relying on paper-based systems and manual processes. Motion’s early traction suggests strong demand for solutions that improve operational efficiency whilst meeting increasing expectations for family communication and transparency.
The funding round attracted backing from experienced entrepreneurs and sector specialists, reflecting strong confidence in Motion’s market opportunity and execution capability. Motion’s approach of co-developing technology with end users – care providers, residents and families – has created strong product-market fit.
Motion has received coverage from the BBC and The Times, establishing the company as an emerging leader in care technology innovation.
