Nauta has announced the first close of its sixth fund, Nauta VI, at £45 million to back European B2B software and deep tech startups from pre-seed to Series A. The new vehicle invests in founders across Europe building B2B software, AI and deep tech companies, with a focus on capital efficient software businesses disrupting large verticals such as travel, finance, retail and HR. Through its Nauta Labs initiative within the same fund, the strategy also covers pre-seed deep tech companies in areas including high performance computing, AI infrastructure, cybersecurity, industrial automation, digital health infrastructure and energy frontier technology.
The fund has received an anchor LP investment from the British Business Bank, which has committed €30 million and is investing in Nauta for the fourth time. Additional investors in the first close include SETT, Merifin Capital and Institut Català de Finances, alongside other institutions and family offices across the UK, Continental Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. Three-quarters of investors in this first close are repeat limited partners from previous Nauta funds, with the remainder made up of new investors. With an initial close of €60 million, Nauta VI is aiming at a final close in the second half of 2027 with a total fund size expected to be between €150 million and €200 million.
This sixth fund is expected to bring Nauta’s total assets under management close to €750 million. Over more than two decades, Nauta has backed more than 200 founders across 100 companies, achieving almost €3 billion in exit value to date through more than 25 exits, including Brandwatch, Holded and Connectbase. The current portfolio spans deep tech companies such as Universal Quantum, which is building a million-qubit quantum computer, and B2B software businesses such as Lodgify, a short-term rental management software provider. Other recent investments include Unravel, Acai Travel and Netbird.
Having invested through every major technology shift since the early 2000s, we’ve learned that enduring venture firms are built on discipline, adaptability and long-term conviction. This philosophy has enabled us to reach the rare milestone of a sixth fund, but more importantly it has strengthened our belief that every generation of technology brings with it a new wave of exceptional companies. We’re incredibly excited about what lies ahead and the role we can play in shaping the next era of European innovation.
Our long-standing partnership with Nauta demonstrates the role the British Business Bank can play in attracting international investors to the UK. Since our first commitment, Nauta has built a substantial presence in London and established the UK as a core investment market for them. This is helping to bring more capital, expertise and international connections into the UK venture ecosystem, helping innovative businesses to grow and strengthening the UK venture market over the long term.
