White Star Capital, a global venture capital firm, has announced the final close of its Fund IV at £185m ($250m). Founded more than a decade ago, the firm partners with founders who have the ambition, talent and product to scale internationally, providing the global network and operational expertise they need to grow.
Together with its inaugural North American Seed Fund, announced late last year, and several new special purpose vehicles, White Star Capital has raised more than $350 million in fresh capital to back founders from Seed through Series B. Fund IV deepens the firm's core venture strategy, focusing on backing teams at the Series A and B stages across its hubs in New York, London, Toronto, Montreal, Paris, Milan and Berlin.
Spanning pioneering AI models in Paris, specialised vertical AI applications in New York, and physical AI in Montreal, the fund targets high-growth businesses that use these technologies to solve tangible, real-world problems. Fund IV has already led rounds in Sequen (New York), Veesion (Paris), OatFi (New York), AMI Labs (Paris), Tetrix (Montreal) and Trayd (New York).
Since launching its first fund more than twelve years ago, White Star Capital has grown from a team of five split between New York, Montreal and London in 2014 to more than 50 people across eight offices. The firm has achieved 22 exits from a portfolio of more than 100 companies, including the acquisition of TheGuarantors by Warburg Pincus, Sun Life's acquisition of Dialogue Health Technologies, and the sale of Freshly to Nestle. Portfolio companies that have reached category leadership include Butternut Box (United Kingdom), Vention (Canada), Petfolk (United States), Numan Health (United Kingdom) and FINN (Germany), alongside growth stories including Flare (Canada), Ledn (Canada) and Spiko (France).
