Space Solar wins a £1.3m ARIA contract to beam wireless power from the ground to stratospheric aircraft
Space Solar develops space-based solar power and wireless power beaming technology, including retrodirective phased arrays that transmit energy by radio frequency at 5.8 GHz. Built into a wing as a lightweight conformal antenna, its rectenna allows an aircraft to draw power from a ground-based transmitter rather than relying on onboard solar generation.
