Arondite, a London-based defencetech company developing AI software to enable safer collaboration between humans and machines, has raised £9 million in seed funding. The round was led by Index Ventures, following an earlier undisclosed pre-seed round backed by Concept Ventures and Creator Fund.
Founded in 2023 by Will Blyth, a former British Army officer with experience at Palantir and Helsing, and Rob Underhill, previously lead engineer at BAE Systems and founding engineer at Garrison Technology, Arondite aims to be the connective layer that links autonomous systems in complex defence environments.
The company’s technology is designed to integrate drones, robots, and AI-enabled sensors from different manufacturers into a single interface, giving operators real-time visibility, operational control, and enhanced situational awareness. This software-first approach supports minefield clearance, counter-intrusion efforts, and the protection of critical infrastructure.
Arondite’s platform is hardware-agnostic and uses AI to process and unify data from multiple sources, helping defence organisations deploy autonomous systems safely and at scale. By creating a common operational layer, the platform reduces risk, improves coordination, and supports faster, more informed decision-making on the ground.
The funding will support team growth and development of the platform as Arondite scales in the UK and Europe.
