Circuit Mind raises £19m including a Series A round led by Norwest to design and check circuit boards automatically

Circuit Mind is an electronic design intelligence platform that automatically designs, verifies and optimises circuit boards for enterprise hardware teams. Its ACE and AVE applications turn block diagrams into schematics and check designs against datasheets and in-house rules before prototypes are built.

Circuit Mind, an AI platform that designs, verifies and optimises circuit boards for enterprise electronics teams, has raised £19 million in new funding. The total includes a £14 million Series A led by Norwest, with participation from Third Prime, Differential, Blackhorn and new investor Lightscape VC, alongside a previously unannounced seed round led by Third Prime. Circuit Mind has now raised £25 million in total, with Dave Zilberman, General Partner at Norwest, joining the board.

Every electronic system, from robots and spacecraft to data centre servers, runs on circuit boards, yet hardware engineers can still take more than a year to ship a new product. Much of that time goes on choosing hundreds of components from millions of options, reading datasheets thousands of pages long, running simulations and drawing schematics by hand. Errors usually surface only once boards are manufactured and tested, which adds months of rework. General-purpose language models have not been trained on professionally designed circuits and struggle with the accuracy this work demands.

Circuit Mind pairs AI agents with a patented, physics-based decision engine, machine-readable models of electronic components and each customer's own approved manufacturers, preferred parts and design rules. Two applications run on the platform, which plugs into the ECAD tools, libraries and product lifecycle systems teams already use. ACE turns a hardware block diagram into a schematic, bill of materials and supporting analysis in minutes, offering design options tuned for cost, size, power or supply chain availability. AVE, launching alongside the funding, uses AI agents to check designs against component datasheets and an organisation's design rules before a prototype is built, cutting the number of costly manufacturing respins.

Engineering teams at Emerson, Schneider Electric and Fortune 5 companies use Circuit Mind to cut design time from months to weeks and reduce bill of materials costs by 25%. In a peer-reviewed case study, Los Alamos National Laboratory completed in four hours an electronics design that previously took two weeks.

Tomide Adesanmi and Basilio Gentile founded Circuit Mind. The new money will extend the platform across the full electronics design lifecycle, grow the sales, engineering and customer success teams, and set up a US headquarters to serve customers in North America.

Software teams are shipping 100 times faster with AI, but electronics design hasn't changed in 40 years. Circuit Mind is bringing to electronic engineering what Cursor, Claude Code, and Cognition have brought to software engineering: AI workflows that professional engineers can rely on. This funding allows us to bring that capability to more engineering teams and accelerate the shift toward Electronic Design Intelligence.

Electronics design is one of the most complex and consequential engineering workflows, yet much of the process remains manual and time-consuming. Circuit Mind combines AI with physics-based models to fundamentally improve how engineers design electronics. With deep industry expertise and technical vision, Tomide and Basilio are uniquely positioned to lead this emerging category.

Dave Zilberman, General Partner at Norwest

At Schneider Electric, we see AI as a way to amplify engineering expertise and accelerate innovation. Our collaboration with Circuit Mind demonstrates how AI can help engineers rapidly explore, compare, and optimize electronic architectures while leveraging company standards and reusable design knowledge. Early evaluations indicate the potential to reduce architecture exploration effort by more than 90%, enabling teams to focus more time on innovation, engineering judgment, and product differentiation.
