Fit Collective, a fashion technology company founded by Phoebe Gormley, has raised £3m in a pre-seed round led by AlbionVC, marking the largest pre-seed investment in the UK led by a solo female founder.
The company uses artificial intelligence to analyse data on returns, fabric performance and sales before production begins, helping fashion brands make better sizing decisions and reduce waste. By improving garment fit accuracy at the design stage, Fit Collective aims to cut the industry's high rate of product returns and overproduction.
The new funding will be used to grow the team, further develop the company's technology platform, and strengthen partnerships with global brands seeking more sustainable and efficient production methods.
Fashion is still one of the most wasteful industries in the world, and much of that comes from poor fit. We're helping brands make smarter decisions before production starts, so clothes actually fit the people they're made for.
Fit is one of the fashion industry's biggest blind spots, and returns are now a board-level issue costing the industry billions. We're backing Fit Collective because they're tackling this challenge at its roots. The team is building the kind of intelligence layer we believe will power the next wave of operational transformation in retail.
