Pure Capture Innovations Ltd, a deep-tech startup developing sustainable adsorbent materials for water purification, has completed a pre-seed funding round that brings total funding to £530,000. The round includes investment from SFC Capital, Carbon 13, the British Business Bank and angel investors, together with non-dilutive funding from two Innovate UK grants.
The technology combines advanced materials science with sustainable, carbon-based adsorbents built to remove PFAS, persistent micropollutants and other contaminants of emerging concern from water. Rather than requiring water companies and industrial users to rebuild their treatment processes, the adsorbents are designed to remain compatible with existing water treatment infrastructure. From its Materials Research Centre, Pure Capture Innovations is also developing a rapid adsorbent assessment and PFAS water testing service.
The investment will accelerate development and validation of those materials, as Pure Capture Innovations works towards commercialisation. SFC Capital pointed to strong engagement from the UK water industry and an experienced founding team behind the business.
This funding marks an important milestone for Pure Capture Innovations. It will help us accelerate the development and validation of our technology as we work towards more sustainable and effective solutions for contamination-free water around the world.
Pure Capture Innovations is addressing an increasingly important challenge in water treatment with a compelling combination of advanced materials science, sustainability and commercial potential. We were particularly impressed by the potential for its technology to deliver significantly improved PFAS removal while working with existing water treatment infrastructure. With strong engagement from the UK water industry and an experienced founding team, we're delighted to support Pure Capture as it moves towards commercialisation.
