Stasher, a travel tech startup, has raised £3 million in new funding comprising approximately £2 million in growth financing from growth lender Gilion and a £1 million strategic investment from global smart locker provider Hive Box. The funding supports Stasher’s next stage of growth, including adding more locations to its marketplace, investing in larger marketing campaigns and accelerating its smart locker rollout across the United Kingdom and Europe.
Stasher operates a global luggage storage marketplace connecting travellers with hotels and local businesses that have secure spare space for luggage, and is now adding dedicated smart lockers to that established network. The smart lockers represent an evolution of Stasher’s original marketplace model, integrating Hive Box’s hardware, IoT platform and remote-management technology with Stasher’s booking platform. As part of the strategic partnership with Hive Box, Stasher will receive an initial 100 smart lockers for deployment across the United Kingdom and Europe by mid-2027.
Premier Inn is among the first major hotel groups to roll out the lockers, following an initial pilot at Premier Inn London St Pancras in November 2025. Stasher’s smart lockers are now operating across 17 Premier Inn properties in London, Edinburgh and Manchester, alongside Zedwell Trocadero at Piccadilly Circus and StayKula properties in Kensington and Birmingham. Stasher also works with Staycity Aparthotels across several United Kingdom and Irish locations using earlier locker models.
Early performance across the smart locker network is strong, with bookings growing 108% month on month and the highest-performing location currently generating £2,500 per week in locker revenue. Overall, Stasher’s network spans more than 10,000 locations in 1,200+ cities worldwide, using more than a decade of booking and search data to identify where travellers are looking for storage, where existing locations reach capacity and where demand continues beyond staffed opening hours.
The funding gives Stasher additional capital to invest in growth, including adding more locations to its marketplace and increasing marketing activity. Stasher plans to expand its smart locker network across accommodation and other high-footfall parts of the travel journey, including transport hubs, visitor attractions and major leisure destinations across the United Kingdom and Europe.
We’ve spent the last ten years building Stasher into a global network, and this funding gives us the firepower to accelerate the next stage of growth. We’ll be investing in adding more locations and reaching more travellers, while expanding our smart locker network where we know there is unmet demand.
By combining Hive Box’s experience in large-scale smart locker infrastructure with Stasher’s strong local network, customer base and deep understanding of traveller needs, we are creating a scalable model for unattended luggage storage across the UK and Europe.
Stasher is a clear leader in its market, growing fast while keeping customer acquisition costs low in a very attractive segment. We’re impressed by the founders and how disciplined they’ve been in scaling the company. We’re excited to back Stasher as it grows further and cements its position in the global luggage storage space.
