TaskHer, a platform connecting homeowners with verified tradeswomen, has raised £650,000 in seed funding co-led by Trust for London, Resolution Ventures, Ufi Ventures and Second Century Ventures, investing as part of the REACH UK programme, alongside participation from angel investors from Daring Capital.
Homeowners and organisations use the platform to find tradeswomen who are verified before being listed, covering home services and property maintenance. Making hiring safer and more transparent for customers sits alongside a second aim of opening up access to skilled trades work for women, and over 4,000 customers have been connected with verified tradeswomen across London.
Women currently make up less than 3% of the skilled workforce in the United Kingdom trades industry, while demand for skilled trades and trusted home services continues to rise across the country. Tackling that wider skills shortage by supporting more women into the sector is a stated focus of the business.
Anna Moynihan and Paul Moynihan founded TaskHer in 2022, after managing a home renovation highlighted the lack of female tradespeople on site and sparked a wider conversation about visibility, access and gender imbalance in the industry.
Proceeds will support expansion into B2B partnerships with housing associations, women's refuges and lettings agencies, along with platform development, initiatives designed to bring more women into skilled trades, and continued growth of the network of verified tradeswomen.
