Toyo, a startup building a platform where AI agents run business operations, has raised Β£3 million in a seed round led by Frontline Ventures, with participation from iNovia Capital, Tiny Supercomputer, and angels from Amazon, Microsoft, and Cloudflare. The platform provides founders with AI agents that operate continuously on secure cloud computers to research, write, build, and manage workflows.
The product is designed to address the operational burden faced by small businesses that rely on multiple disconnected software tools. Toyo gives founders agents that connect to applications, access a browser, and perform tasks such as monitoring emails, researching prospects, building websites, and generating reports from business data. Agents notify founders when decisions are required and operate with approval controls.
Security risks are a barrier for companies using AI agents on local machines, where sensitive data such as customer lists and financial information can be exposed. Toyo operates agents in isolated environments built on Cloudflare infrastructure so that data remains within the founderβs environment.
Toyo was founded by Damien Tanner, Stuart Bowness, and Aidan Hornsby, who each have more than a decade of experience building software. The founders previously worked on companies including MediaCore and Pusher, which were acquired by Workday and MessageBird respectively.
