Nuclear Turbines raises £15m led by IQ Capital to develop compact, low-cost advanced nuclear power systems
Nuclear Turbines develops compact, advanced nuclear power systems that pair a novel reactor design with high-temperature turbine technology of the kind used in jet engines and gas-fired power plants. Built to run without steam infrastructure, the systems are small enough to be deployed behind the meter at industrial sites and data centres.
Healome Therapeutics raises £2m to advance eye-drop matrix technology treating dry eye and ocular surface disease
Healome Therapeutics is a University of Birmingham spinout developing an eye-drop matrix technology that extends the residence time of therapeutics on the ocular surface. The platform is designed for use in dry eye disease, ocular surface inflammation, corneal injury and rare diseases causing severe ocular surface damage.
Neuronostics raises £3m in funding led by Empirical Ventures and The FSE Group for platform that diagnoses epilepsy from brain activity recordings
Neuronostics develops BioEP, a digital biomarker platform that analyses EEG recordings to support the diagnosis and prognosis of epilepsy. The platform is designed for clinicians who need objective decision support when routine EEG results are inconclusive.
Silveray lands £5m Series A led by PXN Ventures to scale ultra-thin flexible X-ray film technology
Silveray has developed a flexible Digital X-ray Film (DXF®) that produces high-quality radiographic images using ultra-thin, lightweight detectors that can conform to curved surfaces. The technology is designed to replace conventional rigid X-ray detectors in both industrial inspection and medical imaging applications.
Optera raises £3m in funding led by Future Planet Capital to track fast-moving objects in space with neuromorphic sensors
Optera develops neuromorphic, event-based sensors and AI analytics that detect, track and characterise high-velocity objects in space. Its architecture captures only changes in a scene rather than full frames, reducing data and power requirements and enabling persistent operations on the ground and in orbit.
Caudal Energy raises £4.3m in funding led by Oxford Science Enterprises and Empirical Ventures to develop predictable tidal power technology
Caudal Energy develops fin-based tidal power systems designed to generate predictable renewable electricity from mid-flow tidal sites. The Oxford spinout is building modular infrastructure intended to reduce deployment complexity and expand where tidal energy can be commercially viable.
Fermtech raises a £2.5m seed round led by Elbow Beach to scale production of sustainable cocoa alternative
Fermtech is a biotechnology company developing fermentation technology to turn agricultural byproducts into food ingredients. Its Koji Cocoa™ product converts cocoa shells into a cocoa alternative for food manufacturers to reduce costs and environmental impact.
Orthofuse secures a £2.2m seed round from angels and VCs for 3D-printed orthopaedic implant systems
Orthofuse develops 3D-printed orthopaedic implant systems for complex trauma and spinal procedures. Its designs aim to simplify insertion and improve fixation in challenging surgical cases.
QV Bioelectronics raises £4.5m in funding led by PXN Ventures to treat brain cancer with implantable device
QV Bioelectronics develops an implantable medical device that delivers therapeutic electric fields to residual brain cancer cells, aiming to reduce tumour regrowth following surgery for patients with glioblastoma.
OutSee completes its £2.5m seed round led by Ahren Innovation Capital for its genomic drug discovery platform
OutSee develops AI-driven genomics software that identifies disease targets directly from genetic data, supporting drug discovery by uncovering biological mechanisms missed by conventional analysis methods.
