StandardX raises a £10m seed round led by Vsquared Ventures and East X Ventures to build scalable refinery for rare isotopes
StandardX builds an accelerator-based isotope refinery to manufacture rare isotopes at commercial scale. StandardX serves hospitals, drug-makers and fusion energy developers that rely on scarce medical and industrial isotopes.
KVector raises £3.8m in funding from VCs to develop low-power radar antennas
KVector develops a beam-steered antenna built on engineered metamaterial surfaces for radar and satellite communications systems. Designed to deliver the performance of an active electronically steered array at lower weight, cost and power draw, the technology targets applications where the size and power demands of conventional antennas have been the constraint.
HALO X-ray Technologies lands funding led by Agilent Technologies for X-ray diffraction screening of airport baggage
HALO X-ray Technologies develops advanced X-ray diffraction instrumentation for security screening. The technology identifies the materials inside screened items so that operators at airports and border checkpoints can tell genuine threats from everyday belongings.
Silicon Microgravity secures £6m led by West Hill Capital for UK-built semiconductor sensors used in defence and space navigation
Silicon Microgravity (SMG) is a UK advanced semiconductor company that designs and manufactures MEMS (microelectromechanical systems) devices for extreme operating environments. Its MEMS accelerometers support navigation, sensing and autonomous operations across defence systems, satellites and space programmes.
Luffy AI lands £8.1m Series A led by BGF to build neuroplastic AI stack for industrial motor control
Luffy AI develops neuroplastic AI software for real-time adaptive control of industrial motors and variable frequency drives. Its models allow motors to tune themselves to their load and operating conditions in deployment, targeting applications such as pumps, fans and conveyors.
Revolver Therapeutics raises £600k in funding led by QantX to develop peptides that shut down cancer-driving proteins
Revolver Therapeutics develops peptide-based therapeutics designed to inhibit transcription factors, proteins inside cancer cells that drive tumour growth, survival and treatment resistance. Its Transcription Block Survival platform identifies cell-penetrating peptides that can switch off these targets, which have traditionally been considered too difficult to reach with conventional drugs.
Optera raises £3m in funding led by Future Planet Capital to track fast-moving objects in space with neuromorphic sensors
Optera develops neuromorphic, event-based sensors and AI analytics that detect, track and characterise high-velocity objects in space. Its architecture captures only changes in a scene rather than full frames, reducing data and power requirements and enabling persistent operations on the ground and in orbit.
Hexigone lands £1.2m in funding led by Future Planet Capital to develop smart corrosion inhibitors that activate as metal begins to corrode
Hexigone Inhibitors develops smart corrosion inhibitor technology for metal assets used in defence, marine and industrial environments. Its Intelli-ion product is a patented additive for protective coatings that activates only when corrosion begins, reducing the need for heavy metals or toxic substances.
QuberTech raises £3.4m from UKI2S and Sustainable Ventures for engineered dandelions that produce natural rubber
QuberTech is a biotechnology startup developing engineered dandelions that produce sustainable natural rubber and other bio-based materials. Its platform is designed to create localised alternatives to imported rubber supply chains used across industrial sectors.
Ascension secures £1.7m in funding from UKI2S and Innovate UK to tap geothermal critical mineral reserves
Ascension develops technology to recover critical minerals from underground geothermal systems. It enables extraction from volcanic rock deposits without surface mining, reducing environmental impact and reliance on concentrated supply chains.
Ternary Therapeutics raises a £3.6m seed round led by daphni to engineer molecular glue medicines
Ternary Therapeutics develops computational and laboratory tools to design molecular glue medicines. Its platform predicts how proteins interact and suggests molecules that can bring them together, helping researchers target disease-driving proteins previously considered undruggable.
Spotlight Pathology lands a £1.4m seed round led by UK Innovation and Science Seed Fund to help in the diagnosis of blood cancers with AI-powered tools
Spotlight Pathology develops software that analyses digital pathology images to help clinicians diagnose blood cancers more quickly and consistently. The technology supports pathologists by prioritising cases and integrating into existing clinical workflows.
Cytotrait secures a £3m seed round led by Northern Gritstone to develop novel genetic traits for crops
Cytotrait develops genetic engineering technology designed to introduce new traits into crops. Its platform targets chloroplasts and mitochondria to enable localised, high-level gene expression for crop improvement.
HotHouse Therapeutics emerges from stealth with £3m pre-seed led by SynBioVen to develop plant-based drug compounds
HotHouse Therapeutics develops plant-based methods for producing pharmaceutical compounds, using AI and bioengineering to create scalable alternatives to scarce natural ingredients in drug and vaccine supply chains.
Astut lands £1.6m seed round led by East X Ventures and Sure Valley Ventures to commercialise AI for crisis decision-making
Astut develops reasoning-based AI systems for high-stakes decisions, designed for situations where there is little historical data to learn from.
Messium raises £3.3m seed round led by UKI2S and Expansion Aerospace to tackle nitrogen efficiency in farming
