Gladys, the AI home care technology platform on a mission to fix Britain’s broken care system, has announced the close of a £1.5 million seed funding round.
The raise was led by Cornerstone, with participation from Exceptional Ventures, Embryo Ventures, Ufi VocTech Trust, Houghton Street Ventures and Conduit EIS Impact Fund.
Founded by former barrister George Robinson and repeat healthtech founder Alex Sorisi, Gladys is disrupting the failing home care sector with a combination of smart technology, logistics know-how, and a relentless focus on better outcomes for both families and carers. The platform matches care seekers and those with support needs to the UK’s best local carers and helpers, offering 5-star support at fairer prices. It rewards carers with industry-leading pay and the tools they need to develop their careers.
Gladys has already delivered care across a 20,000 km area and supported tens of thousands of hours of independent living. Its AI-powered agents take the stress out of finding and managing great care in the community, whilst helping carers earn 65% more than they’d typically earn with a care agency.
This funding will allow Gladys to serve the entire UK, aiming to provide hundreds of thousands of hours of support by the end of 2026.
With this new funding, Gladys will become a national offering, use AI back-office agents and invest in building a trusted network of local care communities across the UK.
