University spin-out TTPi secures £340k to commercialise lightweight power electronics for electric vehicles

TTPi develops lightweight power electronics for electric vehicles, focusing on compact and efficient converters and motor drive systems that reduce cost, weight and environmental impact.

TTPi, a Nottingham-based spin-out, has raised £340k in a seed round to commercialise its groundbreaking power electronics technology for electric vehicles. Founded by Lee Empringham and Liliana de Lillo, the company's solutions focus on creating lightweight, compact power converters and motor drive systems, reducing the environmental impact and cost of EVs.

The technology enhances efficiency and performance while addressing size and weight limitations in existing power electronics. With prototypes already in testing, the funding will support the development of TTPi's DC-to-DC modular converter unit, patent creation, and staff expansion, positioning the company to meet growing demand across multiple sectors.
