xmemory, a developer of a memory layer for AI workflows startup, has raised £3 million in a pre-seed round led by Fly Ventures, with participation from Begin Capital, AAL VC, 33East, and Inovia Capital. The funding will be used to launch pilots with existing design partners and refine its platform, which is currently in closed beta.
It advances a “precision-first” memory layer designed to solve reliability and governance issues in AI workflows. Unlike traditional Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems that focus on interpreting context at read-time, xmemory optimises the write path by structuring, cleaning, and organising data upfront. This approach aims to answer 95% of critical business and system questions with high precision, leaving only a small fraction of queries to standard semantic search.
